MTA Option Guide Questions and Answers:

  • What option would I choose if I corrected the first line of the address? Option 4 for ‘Minor Detail Correction’.

  • What would I choose if I add, amend, or remove a motoring conviction? Option 5 for ‘Correction to Conviction History’.
  • Would I charge an administration fee if I amend the date or conviction code that has already been disclosed? No, unless there is a charge from the insurer.
  • Can I change the type of cover from Third Party Fire and Theft to Fully Comprehensive at any time? No, unless you are doing a change of vehicle. You can however, downgrade from Fully Comprehensive to Third Party Fire and Theft at any time.
  • Can I add No Claims Bonus Protection at any time? No, this can only be done at inception or renewal and the policy holder would need to have 4 or more years No Claims Bonus in order to apply the protection.
  • What option would I choose if I amend the annual mileage? Option 4 for ‘Minor details correction’ if there is no administration fee otherwise, Option 8 for ‘Other’.
  • What option would I choose if I add racking, shelving, or signwriting? Option 4 for ‘Minor details correction’ if there is no administration fee otherwise, Option 8 for ‘Other’.
  • What option would I choose if I have amended that the vehicle is refrigerated? Option 4 for ‘Minor details correction’ if there is no administration fee otherwise, Option 8 for ‘Other’.
  • What option would I choose if I have added business use? Option 8 for ‘Other’.
  • What option would I choose if I have added a temporary vehicle/driver? Option 8 for ‘Other’.
  • Do I need authorisation to waiver a fee? Yes, you would need to get authorisation from your manager.
  • When do I answer ‘Yes’ to the question ‘Are you completing the audit alongside this MTA?’ If we are chasing documents or non-disclosure’s to be added to the policy and it is the last thing that we require to complete the audit on the policy. This question should never be answered Yes on any Customer Service changes.
  • Do we insure hired vehicles? No, we only insure leased vehicles.
  • How many seats do most vans come standard with? Majority of them come standard with 2 or 3 seats however, anything over 7 is classed as a minibus and would need to be rebroked with Non-Standard.
 

Important things to remember:

  • If customer calls in to do more than one MTA in one day, please charge admin fee once.
  • Portal MTA’s – Address does not get amended on CPF, this needs to be amended.
  • Option 4 is not acceptable if it’s something that is clearly there as a listed MTA option. If option 8 is chosen then there should be no alternative on the list, excluding option 4, plus it must be grammatically correct including use of capitals.
