All drivers with a plastic licence card will have an online counterpart. The licence holder has to visit the DVLA website and enter some details (National Insurance number and Driving licence number) to access their details.
https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence They select the Tab ‘Share information’ and get a Code which is valid for 21 days but can only be used once. We need that code and the last 8 characters of their driving licence number from them.

Once on there you can ‘Save or print this licence’ which you will need to do in order to save it and have the record on file. It is best to do this straight away in case anything negative occurs and you have to ask the customer to start from the beginning again.
Please Save As and call it ‘Branch, Reference, line number, Surname’. So, for example V123123_1_DOLAN. Then upload it to the policy that required it via Filestore. (See filestore how to).
